He is your sun & shield. Psalm 84:

Psalm 84:11-12

For the LORD God is a sun and shield;
The LORD will give grace and glory;
No good thing will He withhold
From those who walk uprightly.

¹² O LORD of hosts,
Blessed is the man who trusts in You!

The sun gives off light and energy during the day.

Isaiah 2:5 , O house of Jacob, come and let us walk
In the light of the LORD.
Solar panels can harness the energy, in Israel, there are huge plots of panels to generate electricity.

Solar gives off light, which is vital for plants to grow and for Chlorophyll to absorb Carbon dioxide & covert it to oxygen.

So, the sun speaks of a light and life giving source.

In Revelation  21:22-23, God is describe as a life and light giving source.

²² But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. ²³ The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it,^[j] for the glory^[k] of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light.

The Lord God is a shield, He is for our protection. David writes of it in 2 Samuel 22:3

“The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;

³ The God of my strength, in whom I will trust;
My shield and the horn of my salvation,
My stronghold and my refuge;
My Savior, You save me from violence.

Then what about at night? Some might wonder..

In Psalm 91:4-6

He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
⁵ You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
⁶ Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

In Proverbs 4:18

But the path of the just is like the shining sun,^[a]
That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.

But, for the wicked…
¹⁹ The way of the wicked is like darkness;
They do not know what makes them stumble.

John 12:35

Then Jesus said to them, “A little while longer the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you; he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light. Let’s have fellowship with one another, and the blood of  Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light

(1 John 1:7,Ephesians 5:8) 

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the lightof life.” John 8:12
